Writing

During my internship with NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, I wrote this feature story for NASA's Tumblr as a part of my "Week of Constellations" mini social media campaign. This story involved translating complex science into simple and engaging language to excite the general public about space.

This feature spotlights political communication students who attended the 2020 Iowa Caucus. It is one of the numerous stories I wrote for the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication's 2019-2020 Annual Report.

This blog is an example of a student spotlight I wrote aimed at showing prospective students what they can do with a degree in mass communication from LSU.

This feature is an example of an alumni spotlight I wrote for the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication's 2019-2020 Annual Report.

My internship with LSU Pennington Biomedical Research Center first taught me how to translate complex science research into easily understandable information for the public. This release focuses on diabetic health research and was sent to local, regional and national media.

During my internship and graduate assistantship at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication, I have written numerous press releases about students, events and faculty.  These releases are featured on the Manship School's website and sent to media across the state and nation.

This release is an example of a spotlight of a student receiving a nationwitde award for her work at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication's Tiger TV. It was sent to local, regional and national media.

In my undergraduate Public Relations Campaign capstone course, I worked with a team member to write this press release promoting our client's event. This release was picked up by The Advocate, Louisiana's largest daily newspaper.

As the graduate assistant of the director of communications at the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication, I assisted in the content curation, writing, design oversight and publication of the school's 2019-2020 Annual Report. This multiple-month process included interviewing students and alumni, creating an overall theme, making editorial decisions and editing/revisions.

In my undergraduate Social Media Analysis and Creation Lab course, my team and I created a social media playbook for our client and my employer at the time, the LSU Pennington Biomedical Research Center. I contributed to the overview, guidelines, influences and owned/earned media sections of the report and served as the designer the overall book.

As communications intern and graduate assistant at the Manship School, I created and redesigned the bi-monthly "Manship Forum" e-newsletter. The newsletter, which features awards, alumni updates, new features and more, is sent to over 8,000 people, including current students, alumni, campus communicators, deans, Manship School faculty and staff and donors. It is created in Constant Contact.
